After several months of hard work the cohort phase of Impact Hub Madrid’s edition of the Impact Hub Fellowship for Longer Lives came to an end. On December 16, 2014 the three finalist initiatives pitched their venture in front of a jury panel of renowned professionals consisting of:

  • Catalina Hoffmann – Entrepreneur and founder of Vitalia day care centers
  • Ignacio Lerga – CSR Manager AXA Spain
  • Peace Pinilla – Director of Swiss Re Iberia
  • José Luis Ruiz de Munain – General Director of UnLtd Spain
  • Mikel Oleaga – Director of Programming Impact Hub Madrid

This jury had to make the decision, who of the three finalsists will be selected as winner and awarded as Impact Hub Fellow. Selected was Construyendo Oasis (Building Oasis). This venture aims to connect the elder with their dreams and what they always wanted to do, through the Brazilian methodology Oasis (an event that invites the community to plan and build cooperative collective dreams and aspirations, chosen by the community). Using these Oasis experiences as a starting point, Construyendo Oasis will offer council and monitoring and work with the elder along the path they have chosen to reach their goals.

This venture – formed by Marta Orihuel, Conchi Piñeiro, Javier Fernández and Raúl Rodríguez – will now enter the incubation phase of the Fellowship program, where they will receive access to Impact Hub’s vibrant community and workspace and further coaching and mentoring services. Additionally, they will receive € 10.000 in seed capital and a nine-months scholarship. The venture will  also be supported with access to the networks of AXA, Swiss Re and Impact Hub, as organizers of this program (access to investors, partners, collaborators, peer entrepreneurs, media, etc.).

Congratulations to the winners and also to the other two finalists Kaixo Sensei and Entregeneraciones, for all their work and effort during the past  months!
